Active Front-end control Option
AFE technology enables you to build systems with low harmonic and regenerative operation.
Choose between two variants to suit the application:
- Low harmonic: The AFE controls the input current to extremely low THD, suited to virtually harmonic-free application demands
- Regenerative: In addition to the low harmonic functionality the drive can also feed braking energy back to the grid
Grid monitoring functionality
Voltage measurement on the grid side enables the drive to monitor the supply voltage, the harmonic distortion and frequency to aid in diagnosis of power quality issues.
Motor control impact on dynamic performance Intelligence can be used to maximize performance. With numerous integrated sensors, iC7 series drives provide motor control offerings to meet a wide range of application requirements:
- FVC+ Flux vector control
- FVC+ with encoder ensures best performance and requires measurement of motor shaft position
- FVC+ with no encoder delivers highly dynamic performance and advanced auxiliary functions
- VVC+: Voltage vector control is a robust concept suitable for fans and pumps
- Simple U/f control: basic concept used mostly in special applications with the need to manually set the motor U/f characteristic
DANFOSS CLEAN POWER IC7 – Silicon Carbide (SiC) MOSFETs:
Higher Switching Frequency: DANFOSS IC7 – SiC MOSFETs can switch at higher frequencies compared to conventional silicon devices. This improves power conversion efficiency and reduces harmonic distortion.
Faster Response: Their rapid switching reduces voltage and current distortions, minimizing harmonics and improving power factor.
Frame Sizes with SiC MOSFETs:
Small to Medium Frames: DANFOSS IC7 – SiC MOSFET technology is integrated into smaller and medium frames due to its high efficiency and compact design. These frames cover a range from 22 kW to 75 kW.
Higher Power Options: Danfoss also incorporates SiC technology in some higher power frames, up to 110 kW, depending on the application and region.
DANFOSS IC7 – high-performance SiC MOSFET technology, power factor correction, and advanced filtering techniques, IC7 SIC MOSFET Front End drives minimize harmonics effectively. This leads to improved efficiency, reduced grid pollution, and compliance with global harmonic standards.
